Friends of Recovery Foundation, Inc. (FOR) owns, operates, and maintains Recovery Central. FOR was established in 1992 as a 501(c)3 nonprofit with a mission to provide a stable and secure facility for 12-step meetings in and around the central Arkansas area. Initially, FOR used rental spaces to host the meetings until deciding to purchase a permanent property in downtown Little Rock. We are located on West Markham Street, the same street as the River Market, only half a block from the Union Train Station.
Since it was founded, everything that has been accomplished has been done by a volunteer Board of Directors.
Currently, there are 17 Narcotics Anonymous meetings every week with a noon meeting every day. We also have one Nar-anon meeting each week. However, we welcome any 12-step group that is in need of a meeting place. Our goal is to be a community resource for anyone interested in recovery or community events that need a space.
Recovery Central is the name of the facility and we are open every day of the week, 365 days of the year! Our schedule does not change during the holidays and we rarely close due to inclement weather.
Alcoholics Anonymous has more than 2 million members and 115,000 groups around the world. The U.S. represents approximately 1.2 million of the world’s AA members. Narcotics Anonymous holds nearly 67,000 meetings weekly in 139 countries.
Because addiction is a family disease...
organizations like Nar-Anon, Al-Anon and Alateen offer support for friends and family. These organizations provide comfort by sharing their own experience and how they manage the same issues other families face.
Parking is available in designated areas on either side of the building or on the surrounding streets. Wheelchair accessible parking is available on the West side of the building.
